Finalist for HIA Australian Project of the Year

This luxurious bathroom from Tranquil Renovations is what dreams are made of. Featuring almost every indulgence imaginable and thoughtfully laid out to maximize the amount of available space, the bathroom is the ultimate example of form and function. Eliminating the ugly plumbing work was high on the designer’s to-do list. To take advantage of the room’s sizable dimensions, all plumbing fixtures were relocated within the bathroom. The fixtures have been cleverly concealed from sight, with a wall-hung toilet complete with a hidden cistern integrated into the vanity unit. To combat the clutter and storage problem, the vanity unit was custom-designed to fit the length of one wall. Boasting a gorgeous CaesarStone top, with plenty of room for make-up and other bathroom necessities, and matching Russian Toffee-coloured cupboards offering much-needed space for the more unsightly bits and pieces, the vanity is a definite feature. Structural work was completed to the wall dividing the bedroom and ensuite, with a new window and plantation shutters installed in line with the large existing window on the adjacent wall. This enabled a view directly from the bedroom, through the louvred windows to the panoramic windows overlooking the landscaped gardens, pools and bushland. This made the bathroom appear more open and provided the space with much-needed natural light.
The large, custom designed vanity runs the length of one wall. Where this bathroom really excels is in its
high standard of craftsmanship, particularly in tiling. Bedecked with vitrified beige tiles that
run flush around the bath, the bathroom is the picture of perfection. Modern and sophisticated in appearance, the bathroom has undergone more than a makeover; in fact, a total rejuvenation. And
it’s certainly reaped the rewards, with the ingenious design taking out the 2007 HIA Bathroom Project of the Year and the 2007. HIA Large Bathroom over 5m² categories. It was also recently listed as a finalist for the HIA Australian Project of the Year at the 2008 HIA Kitchen and Bathroom Awards.
