Natural light features in winning bathroom project

Good natural light from a large panoramic window delighted the judges as Tranquil Bathroom Renovations won HIA Bathroom Project of the Year at the 2007 Housing Industry Association-CSR NSW Housing Awards tonight.
Judges said the bathroom had a spacious feel. “The tiling is of a very high standard, particularly the flush tiling around the bath,” they said. “This is a very attractive bathroom.”
Earlier the company had taken out the category for Large Bathroom Over 5 square metres. HIA’s partner in both categories is The Saturday Daily Telegraph Home.
Congratulating Tranquil Bathroom Renovations, HIA’s NSW Executive Director, Graham Wolfe, said the NSW awards are going from strength to strength. “Every year we seem to set records for the number and quality of our entries,” he said.
“While the industry as a whole faces difficulties in NSW our commitment to the highest standards in building and design is unshakeable.
“Our major winners tonight go forward to HIA’s national awards next year and we wish them every success.”
The awards were held in front of an audience of more than 900 HIA members and their guests at the Sydney Convention Centre in Darling Harbour. Speakers included Mr Wolfe and HIA’s NSW President, Robert Lynch. Joint masters of ceremonies for the evening were Channel Seven television personalities Mark Beretta and Daniel Gibson.
HIA is Australia’s peak building body representing more than 40,000 builders, suppliers and trade contractors. The industry is responsible for development projects, new homes, renovations and additions worth about $43 billion each year and generating 350,000 jobs.
